Hello and Welcome to the Web Raft!

What? Why?
As I write this, the Yesterweb forums are set for deletion in around one month and half.
This space is being created with the intent of being a "raft" for all the shipwrecked users - so that we may have more time to find eachother, create new spaces, projects, share contact info, etc.
Ideally, this could become a neat directory of communities and friendly people!

I don't wish for this to become a community in itself. I don't have the time or energy to moderate a proper community, ProBoards isn't the best place for it, etc.
Instead, do create forums, and chats, and groups! And share them here!

Why ProBoards?
Because I'm not savvy enough to set up anything else.

Why not ProBoards?
This is a completely free service. The product is probably us.

I wasn't part of the Yesterweb community but found this place somehow, can I join?

Guidelines

This space follows the Yesterweb's three Core Committments and Etiquette. They're short, so please familiarize yourself with them.

Some easy points to follow and keep in mind:

Don't be a dick! Be respectful to other users, and remember that behind every username, there's a human being.
Be mindful about sharing personal information. Share only things you're comfortable with being public and possibly indexed.
No NSFW, porn, gore, stuff like that. This is a public space and there might be younger users. Behave yourself!
No commercial advertising! You're free to advertise personal sites, projects, accounts etc, as long as you aren't selling anything. Common sense is key: having a button on your personal site where you ask for donations is okay, linking to your portfolio where you showcase your products is not.

Some guidelines to keep in mind when sharing websites, forums, etc:

Why are you sharing it? Please do write a little blurb explaining this. Are you just looking for visibility, or do you have something meaningful to say? Why would it be worthwhile for an internet stranger to give you their time and attention?
This is not to dissuade you from sharing something, but rather, I hope you will be mindful about it. Share interesting things, instead of just dropping personal carrds with links to social media profiles to get more followers.
What do you like about this thing you're sharing?
If it's a community, you're encouraged to write a little bit about what's it about, and include if it's public or semi-private.

And most importantly: have fun, make friends, and be kind!
