I want you guys to check out this video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSIHNCNcTiA&ab_channel=Moon
Some of us know how true the sentiments in this video are.
This is why the YesterWeb was/is so important. One of the things I stressed on the original forum was that this movement is getting people to work. i.e. Use their creativity! Their hands! Not letting everyone do everything for you (or artificial tech do everything...)
Something society is on the verge of being robbed of by the excessive use of artificial means. I started feeling dumbed down when auto correct and urls that typed themselves began to be introduced. The more manual steps we take the more we benefit as people. It is what separates us from Ai: Our Hands, and in the case of the disabled, their ingenuity to use any portion of their being as a “hand”, if you will. The worst thing that could ever happen is if we become excessively dependent on what we created.. to create us. Don’t become “artificially disabled” when.. there is nothing wrong with you/us. We are humans.. capable of great evil but also great good. And some of our best good shows up through our creative endeavors. That being said… create websites people. Do the work. gain skill sets. build awesome stuff. I think the New Web should be based on the YesterWeb:A group of people actively supporting works done by Humans. In a world that is going rogue.
Does that mean entirely forgoing new tools? Of course not. But ask yourself.. how much can you do? And are you willing to leverage what has been created until you can catch up. Also ask yourself? Wouldn’t you rather have friends that can help you create instead of just relying on a tool? Another person with a skill set you don’t have? Isn’t it fun that way. I mean look at us here.. people are conversing and collabing. I believe that a forum is the last ditch stand of preserving human conversation and connection online. Social media is a hit and run. But this.. it isn’t about commercialization. It’s preserving the human culture of writing, sharing, and speaking, building community, and the preservation of civilization as we know it. Who knows. This might be the jump off point to making sure humanity’s ass is covered if people take ai too far. I have faith in you guys.
