It has come to my attention that many creatives are being burned out by their industries. Whether it be Graphic Designers, Anime production offices (more on that.) and just of course people in many job sectors in general.
First though I would like to focus on Anime, because I love anime.
It's not the first time I've heard that the production offices are paid next to nothing. I watched a video about this subject here: This Anime exposed a $28,000,000,000 Sweatshop
I learned about the Toei animation lobbying for changes and right before they got those changes? The faces in the Japanese government changed and the new government didn't care, thought it was a waste of time and put the project on the back burner.
It was said that one guy, The creator of the hit anime Astro Boy, came up with the schedule for anime that is still the format today because he did it to further himself, and big business copied.
This got me thinking about the state of the world economy and YesterWeb as a whole that tried to get us to engage with each other outside of the pure pursuit of profit... I think the original creators were going in the right direction. Though I do know capitalism does matter. People need to make money.
But I learned a term from an amazing woman named Magatte Wade who is concurrently trying bring the continent of Africa back up out of longterm economic collapse by creating a spirit of entrepreneurship.
The term is Conscious Capitalism. One in which people make a conscious effort to care about others while still practicing capitalism. That's something imo that is worth a serious shot.
In terms of the anime production offices and communities. For anyone who ever reads this:
To change how these companies are treated. One group of people need to make their own company, a new production company to do what the rest are already doing BUT.. with the intention and execution to Pay people the way they deserve to be paid and set that as the new standard til people don't except less.
This can be done across the board in many sectors. It's time to create new things, to replace or correct old things.
Especially financially. I say this because I am tired of seeing hopeless people.. Tired of seeing the light going out of their eyes. Let's stop investing into an ugly world or it will keep being that way.
Fuck the market. The market isn't God.
People and their choices, globally, influence the market. If the people change, the market will follow. Even if it's a few at first.
